Course Overview

The healthcare industry is a vast and varied industry with crucial elements at every corner, especially in the paramedical field. Under the various specialisation in the field of paramedical education, educational institutions offer a 2-year Diploma programme in dialysis technology. The Diploma in Dialysis Technician, also known as Diploma in Dialysis Technology (DDT) is a paramedical course aimed at training students in operating Dialysis machines and more.

Across India, paramedical colleges have designed the curriculum of Diploma in Dialysis Technician in such a manner that students become qualified professionals/technicians capable of assisting specialists in dialysis therapy and procedures. Graduates of the course will also be trained in educating and communicating with the patients about the different procedures and assure them of the success of such procedures.

Eligibility

Following are the Eligibility Criteria for the course:

  • The minimum qualification prescribed for admission to the above courses shall be a pass in II PUC with Science subjects PCB. PCMB. CBZ. (Duration 2 years+6 months internship). Students who have passed in II PUC other than science subjects and SSLC/ 10TH (Duration 3 years+ 6 Months internship). Those trained in English Typing or in basic Computer knowledge will be given preference.
  • The candidate should have attained the minimum age of 15 years as on 31st December prior to the year of admission. Upper age limit would be 35 years. In case of In-service, SC & ST candidates upper age limit would be 40 years.
  • Candidate must be able to speak, read and write English well.
  • Physical fitness certificate must be produced at the time of admission. However on admission health checkup and physical examination will be done at our Jayashree multispecialty Hospital.
Documents

Following documents are required for joining the course:

  • S.S.L.C/Xth Standard Marks Cards (Original+ 3 attested copies).
  • IInd PUC/XII Standard Marks Cards (Original+ 3 attested copies).
  • Transfer/School leaving Certificate from Previous (Original+ 3 attested copies).
  • Migration Certificate (Original+ 3 attested copies).
  • Character Certificate from the previous institution (Original+ 3 attested copies).
  • The Candidates coming from out of state must obtain eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.
  • SC/ST/OBC Certificate (applicable only if it is attested).
  • 10 Passport size photos.
Examination Details

Course Examination Details Pattern and procedures below

  • The Board shall conduct two examinations annually at an interval of not less than 4 to 6 months as notified by the Board from time to time. A candidate who satisfies the requirement of attendance, progress and conduct as stipulated by the Board shall be eligible to appear for the Board examination.
  • Internal assessment tests will be conducted periodically to evaluate the student's performance in each subject. The average marks will be sent to the university as internal assessment, for both theory and practical.
  • Internal assessment marks will not be considered for passing marks. The marks will only be eligibility criteria for appearing for the Board examination.
  • IA marks of 50% are compulsory for taking board examination.
  • A model exam will be conducted before the Board examination.
  • A minimum of not less than 75 % attendance in theory and practical / clinical separately in each subject in each academic year is essential for appearing in the examination. A candidate pursuing in the course shall study in the college for the entire period as a full time student. No candidate is permitted to work in a hospital / nursing home / laboratory / college while studying this course. No candidate should join any other course of study or appear for any other examination conducted by this Board or any other university in India or abroad during the period of registration.
  • Carry over system: A Candidate can carry forward all the subjects. Should clear six months before the final examination.
